About Me

I believe that art comes from the soul, and paintings that I create are usually things that I need to paint. The other option is that they are weird ideas that I found funny and wanted to bring to life – and that is a good portion of my art. So, almost all of these paintings are reflections of things that I was feeling or that I felt compelled to do, or just reflections of my bizarre sense of humor. With the encouragement of friends and family (and the occasional kind stranger), I’ve started to expand my art more and more. And painting has become a significant part of my life.   

I travel frequently, and I find so much inspiration from my travels. Sometimes I get inspired from someone I met who left an impression on me, and other times it’s just an emotion that I feel when I’m traveling - which can sometimes be like the loneliness and isolation that I imagine an astronaut must feel in space, or the fear of riding in an Uber on a dangerous road with a driver who isn’t paying attention. It can also be a strange experience that I had that made me think of a piece to make. Whatever the inspiration, I am fortunate enough to be able to translate most of the images in my head into an image on paper or canvas.
