Death of a Star

50cmx60cm (19.5”x23.5”) Acrylic and ink on canvas - 2023

Like many of my favorite paintings, this one started as just an experiment with color to see how it would look if I blended colors in stead of just working with values of a single color. I was working on human anatomy and learning how to draw skulls at the time so this made for a nice little experimentation and it turned out really well. It’s just a lesson that I learn again and again - don’t care too much about your paintings. The less you care, the more risks you’re willing to take, and the cooler the end result. I really like how this one turned out.
