When I was traveling in Madrid in spring of 2019 I was all alone and I happened to meet a girl on a tour who was also all alone in the city. So we ended up just spending the whole day together. It started as coffee and it ended up with us going to the Museo de Arte Reina Sofìa – which is now my favorite museum. We spent the afternoon looking at paintings by Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalì, and Joan Miro, among others. She left quite an impression on me, and I later asked if she would let me use her as a model for a portrait. And here it is, a happy travel memory committed to canvas.
