Woman Over Water

24x36” Acrylic on Canvas - 2020

I did this right after I got home from Saudi Arabia Pt 1 during the height of the pandemic. I took a really cool photo of my friend sitting over the pool with a perfectly mirrored surface and I loved it and decided I wanted to do something with painting it. Ironically, when I went to actually paint it I decided to add distortions to the water because the perfectly mirrored image was boring.

I also went through lots of color iterations - you’d think I would use photoshop or something to test out colors, but I never do. I paint the entire thing and then decide if I like it or not and then I go back and paint the whole thing all over again. Once again, that’s just the process.
